EFS Management

Filed under: Help, How To, New Features — Tags: , — Chris Marshall @ 5:10 pm

The EFS Management Page on Wall Street Online is the one-stop-shop for administrating the aftermath of EFS Card Loads. With v10.2, Wall Street Online is able to receive and interpret the response e-mail directly from EFS. We no longer have to dig through the raw output but can easily see which, if any, loads have failed. Plus, we can take actions to correct failed loads from the same page.

The EFS Queue has also been moved to the Management Page as well. It still offers the ability to Force Card File Transmission along with being more dynamic than the previous Queue. Whole File retransmission has also been moved from the EFS Summary page to the EFS Management page. If EFS does not receive a file, or did not process it, we can resend the file without entering each individual card load.

Dealing with Failure

Sometimes a failure will come back and it’s ok. You don’t have to be perfect all the time. If you didn’t mean to send that load or you will handle payment in another way, go ahead, accept the fail.

  1. Click the ‘Accept Failure’ button in the row of the acceptably failed load.

Other times, you will want to resend the card load, maybe to a different card number or amount. We can easily do this too.

  1. Click the ‘Resend’ button in the row of the failed load. The Resend Bar will appear just below the row you clicked.

You can change the Card Number and the amount from within the Resend Bar.

  3. To resend the card load, click Resend.
  4. If you have changed a driver’s fuel card number, you will be prompted to permanently change the card number in the driver’s record.
  5. This can be helpful for if a card number changes unexpectedly.

Forcing the Queue

The EFS Queue shows card loads that have been entered into Wall Street Online but have not yet been transmitted to EFS for processing. The Queue will automatically transmit every 15 minutes. However it is possible to force the queue to transmit by clicking the Force Card Load button.

All I hear is Static

On very rare occasions, EFS will have problems on their end with processing our card load transmissions and it is necessary to retransmit whole files at a time. Fortunately, this is fairly trivial through the EFS Management page. The Pending Files Table shows all the card load files which have been transmitted to EFS, no response has been received. You can resend the file by typing the File Number into the box below the Pending Files table and clicking Resend This File. The file will be removed from the Pending File table and the loads will be added to the queue.
